Curtis Jones, a very influential musician in the world of bluegrass and new acoustic music, has toured and or recorded with some of the biggest names and best artists in the genre, including members of Alison Krauss’ Union Station band and Blue Highway. Curtis spent seven years on the road as a member of the Schankman Twins band, now Malibu Storm, and certainly did his part to bring that group to the forefront of bluegrass music. He was also a full time member of the super picking group Bluegrass ETC, and his time with this group started his success in Europe. Since that time, he has toured all over the globe. He recently recorded with country and bluegrass music star Patti Loveless.
Curtis has been an instructor for the Georgia Pick and Bow Program in Lumpkin County since it's inception four years ago and maintains a very active teaching schedule in addition to that. Proficient in several stringed instruments, Curtis is a much sought after instructor for workshops and clinics, and has recorded several video instructional lessons for the "Watch and Learn Video" series.
