Women of Heart

From nearby Cleveland, Women of Heart is a mixed blood Native American drum group formed in 2003. The group, which describes its music as coming "from Spirit for the Soul", aspired to share its love of Native America with school children and adults alike through drumming, singing and dance. Women of Heart also does educational programs for various schools and organizations in conjunction with the Sautee Nacoochee History Museum, they participated in the recent Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition, "New Harmonies", about Roots Music of Georgia, and they collaborated with the Glen Snell CD "As One" for the title song.

In addition to scheduled appearances in venues in this area, the group has upcoming performances at the Chattanooga Pow Wow and Feast of the South 2013 in Panama City Beach.

Members of Women of Heart are Donna Redfeather, Marion Burkett, Kathie Brown, Alex Petit-Cruz, Tina Shelton, Alyssa Rose, Julie Pearce and Chrissy O'Donnell. They are supported by Andrew Molina on flute and percussion, Jim Brown on guitar and percussion, and Mark Goldberg on bass, guitar and percussion.
