A Dahlonega icon, The Smith House dates back to 1895, when an acre of land east of the town square was purchased for the home of Captain Frank W. Hall. Set in a home built in 1899, the guesthouse a block from the Historic Public Square and a block from the University of North Georgia campus.
Over the years, this property has become one of the region's best known restaurants and inns. The Smith House invites you to relax on their big front porch rocking chairs, enjoy the family-style Southern dining, stay a night or two in one of their historic guest rooms with refined traditional furnishings, or visit their marketplace style retail store for a unique memento of your time here.
This year, The Smith House is sponsoring the Bear Festival's MainStage appearance by The Howlin' Brothers.
