BEAR FESTIVAL MOVES 2014 DATES BECAUSE OF EASTER WEEKEND
Dahlonega's Bear on the Square Mountain Festival has announced that it will move its 2014 event from the third weekend in April to the fourth weekend to avoid a conflict with Easter weekend.
The 18th annual festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, 2014. Pre-festival events, including the beginning of jamming on the square and the Live and Silent Country Auction will occur on Friday, with two full days of activities on Saturday and Sunday.
Bear on the Square, held in and around Dahlonega's Historic Public Square, is an authentic Appalachian Festival featuring bluegrass and old-time music, a juried Artists Market, music workshops, demonstrations, an open mic event, storytelling, a street dance, children's activities, and more.
More information about the 2014 festival will be available at www.bearonthesquare.org as the dates for the event approach.
Bear on the Square Mountain Festival, Inc. which stages the event each year, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit cultural arts organization. A new program, Friends of Bear, is available as a way for individuals, businesses and organizations to give financial support toward presenting the festival. Information about how to make tax deductible donations can be found on the Bear on the Square website.
